2008-2009 Goals and Projects:
- Coordinate STPS functions and events with efficiency
- Foster group cohesion and community through informal social events
- Increase focus to include more student-oriented events
- Interact with Alumni Relations, the Development office, and Marketing and Communications in mutually beneficial ways
Past (2007-2008) STPS Events:
STPS Annual Retreat, (Cleveland Museum of History), September 10th
Fall Leadership Conference Toastmasters Presentation, September 29th
"I loved helping out with our public speaking seminar at the Fall Leadership Conference! It was a great opportunity for members of STPS to positively impact the Case community by sharing our experiences and knowledge with others. We worked with a Toastmasters member to prepare for the presentation and actually gave the participants the chance to get up and practice. We recieved great feedback from everyone who attended and I'm looking forward to helping out with the presentation next semester!" -Jennifer Rischar '08
Alumni House Grand Opening, (Alumni House), October 1-7th
"The grand opening of the Alumni House was a celebration of administration, students, staff, and faculty in welcoming all of Case's illustrious alums back to campus for the dedication of a beautiful new home for the University community to share. For STPS, this provided an unprecedented opportunity for interaction with alumni and University administration as docents in the new building. Hearing the stories of alumni coming back for their 50th or 60th reunions as I led them around the house, I couldn't believe how much the University has changed--but was even more amazed that the spirit has stayed the same all of these years. I can't wait to come back and visit as an alum!" -Jeffrey Zabinski '09
Great Minds, Great Friends, October 10th
"Great Minds, Great Friends was an amazing event! I truly enjoyed meeting the faculty members and donors to the University and hearing about all the amazing things they do. It was nice that I was able to personally thank the donors for all their contributions to making our University so great. The dinner conversation was truly engaging and enlightening to hear everyone’s life stories and how they have made such a great impact in the world around them. This event was a highlight of my senior year, I will not soon forget the amazing people I meet that night." -Adam Rupe '08
American Music Masters Reception and Concert, (IdeaCenter and Playhouse Square), November 10th
"We had a great time helping out with this event. The pre-show reception at the Idea Center afforded us the opportunity to network with fellow students and a number of alumni who had taken advantage of the Alumni Mystery Bus Tour. The show itself was a wonderful revue of the life and music of Jerry Lee Lewis. He even took the stage to perform his own finale! All-in-all, it was a great evening to share at Playhouse Square." -Andrew Osten '08
University Circle Holiday Fest, (Alumni House), December 2nd
Membership Holiday Party, (Alumni House), December 10th
